Can Core Supports Pay for Cleaning, Laundry and Meals?
In many cases yes. What household tasks funding covers under NDIS core supports, what it does not, and why so many people underuse this part of their plan.
NDIS support at home and in the community across Brisbane
A clean kitchen, fresh sheets and a cooked meal in the fridge make everything else in the week easier. We help with the household jobs that have become difficult, on a regular schedule, with the same worker wherever we can.
This is support, not a cleaning crew. Your worker can do the job with you or for you, whichever you prefer, and fit it around how you like your home kept.
Most people book a set time each week or fortnight. That way the house never gets on top of you, and your worker gets to know where things go.
We agree the length of each visit, and what gets done in it, with you before support starts, so you know exactly what to expect.
NDIS household support is for tasks you cannot reasonably do yourself because of your disability. It does not usually cover jobs any household would pay a tradesperson for, such as carpet steam cleaning, pest control or major gardening. If you are not sure, ask us and we will tell you straight.
It can. Where cleaning is needed because of your disability and is included in your plan, it is usually funded from Core Supports under household tasks.
Yes. Meal preparation is part of household support. The cost of the food itself is paid by you, not your plan.
That is the aim. We roster a small, steady team and let you know in advance if someone new is coming.

Tell us a little about what is needed and we will call you back. There is no obligation, and you will meet your worker before anything starts.
