Transport to appointments, shopping and the places you need to be
Getting somewhere is often the hardest part of going. Our workers can drive you to medical appointments, the shops, a class or a family visit, help you in and out of the car, and stay with you while you are there if that is what you need.
What we help with
- Driving to and from medical and allied health appointments
- Grocery shopping and errands
- Trips to community activities, classes and social outings
- Help getting in and out of the car and carrying shopping
- Waiting with you or coming in with you, whichever you prefer
How transport is charged
There are usually two parts: the worker's time, and a per kilometre charge for using their vehicle. We will tell you both before the first trip so there are no surprises.
Learning to travel on your own
If your goal is to get around without a driver, we can help with that too, through travel training on buses and trains. See our daily living and life skills support.
Common questions
Can a support worker drive me to my appointments?
Yes. Your worker can drive you, help you in and out of the car, and wait with you or come into the appointment if you would like them to.
How is NDIS transport charged?
Usually as the worker's hourly time plus a per kilometre vehicle charge. We confirm both before your first trip.
Do you travel outside Brisbane?
Trips that start in our service area can go further afield, for example to a specialist in the city. Talk to us about longer journeys before booking.
