We start with a conversation, not a package
Every person's support is planned around their own routines, preferences and goals. Here is exactly what happens, from your first call to the day your support starts, and after.
-
Call or send an enquiry
Tell us who the support is for and what is happening. We call back to listen and answer your questions.
-
Meet at home
We visit you in person, or meet by video if you prefer. This meeting is to understand you, not to sell to you.
We will ask what a good day looks like, what help is needed and when, what has worked before and what has not. We will also explain how your plan can be used for the supports you are interested in.
-
Tell us who you want
Gender, age, language, interests, personality, and anything that is a no. We use it to find the right worker.
The things people most often tell us matter:
- Whether the worker is male or female
- Age, and life experience
- Language and cultural background
- Shared interests, so there is something to talk about
- Personality: chatty or quiet, energetic or calm
- Anything that is a firm no, such as pets, smoking or perfume
-
Meet your worker
A meet and greet before anything is signed. No obligation, and you can ask to meet someone else.
-
Start, and keep checking in
Once you are happy, we agree a plan and start. We ask how it is going, with your worker out of the room.
We agree a written support plan with you, set a regular schedule, and review it with you as things change, not only when your NDIS plan is reviewed.
Safe, accountable support
Every worker who supports you must hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Check, and works under the NDIS Code of Conduct. We keep clear records, and we tell you how to raise a concern with us or with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
Common questions
Do I have to sign anything at the first meeting?
No. The first meeting is to understand what you need. A service agreement only comes after you have met your worker and decided you want to go ahead.
What if I do not get on with my support worker?
Tell us. We will find someone else, and you do not need to give a reason. We also check in after the first visits, with your worker out of the room, so it is easy to be honest.
Can a family member or coordinator be part of planning?
Yes, if you want them to be. You decide who is involved and what is shared with them.
Talk to us about what would help
Tell us a little about the person and the support they need. We will call back, listen, and tell you plainly what we can offer.
