Privacy policy
How we look after the personal information you share with us.
Effective date: 1 October 2026
Opal Home Care Service Pty Ltd (ABN 41 672 422 212), trading as Opal Home Care Services, provides disability support services. Because we provide a health service, we handle personal and health information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, and our obligations as an NDIS provider.
What we collect
We collect the information we need to provide safe, suitable support. Depending on your situation this may include:
- your name, contact details, date of birth and address
- details of your NDIS plan, plan management and funding
- information about your disability, health, support needs and preferences
- contact details for family members, nominees, guardians or support coordinators
- the details you give us in an enquiry or referral form on this website
How we collect it
Usually directly from you, or from someone you have authorised, such as a family member, nominee or support coordinator. When you send an enquiry or referral through this website, we receive the details you enter in the form.
How we use it
- to respond to your enquiry and assess whether we can help
- to plan, deliver, review and invoice your supports
- to match you with suitable support workers
- to meet our legal, NDIS and quality and safeguarding obligations
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing unrelated to your enquiry.
Who we share it with
Only with people who need it to support you, or where the law requires it. This can include the support workers allocated to you, your plan manager or the NDIA for payment, and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission where we are required to report. We ask for your consent before sharing information with anyone else.
We store client records and website enquiries in secure, access-controlled systems. Some of the service providers we use, such as email, cloud storage and software providers, may store information on servers outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure the information is protected in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
How we keep it safe
We store information securely, limit access to the people who need it, and keep records for as long as the law and the NDIS require.
