Calamvale and Algester border our base in Sunnybank Hills, with Acacia Ridge just beyond. They are mostly family homes on quiet streets, with plenty of people who want to keep living independently in their own place, and that is exactly the kind of support we do best.
Help at home, on a schedule you can rely on
Most of the support we provide here is practical and regular: a weekly clean and change of linen, meals cooked for the days ahead, help with showering and getting ready in the morning. Because these suburbs are close to our base, we can usually offer consistent visit times and keep the same worker with you, rather than whoever happens to be free.
If household support is new to you, our guide to what core supports can pay for explains how cleaning and meals are usually funded.
Getting out, and getting there
Acacia Ridge and Algester are well connected by road but less so by public transport, which makes getting to appointments and the shops harder than it should be. Our workers can drive you to medical appointments, the QEII Hospital at Coopers Plains, the local shops or a weekly activity, help you in and out of the car, and stay with you while you are there.
Three suburbs, one local team
We treat Calamvale, Algester and Acacia Ridge as one local area. The workers who support people here know the streets and the travel times, and the same small team covers all three, so a move across the suburb line does not mean starting again with someone new.
